Among the five winners, three are from Hanoi National University’s High School for the Gifted in Natural Sciences. The five winners include Trang Dao Cong Minh (12th grader from the Hanoi National University’s High School for the Gifted in Natural Sciences) – Silver medal; Vu Ngo Hoang Duong (10thgrader from the Hanoi National University’s High School for the Gifted in Natural Sciences) – Silver medal; Le Minh Hoang (10th grader from the Hanoi National University’s High School for the Gifted in Natural Sciences) – Silver medal; Nguyen Khac Hai Long (12th grader from the Specialized High School of Hanoi Pedagogical University) – Silver medal; and Nguyen Le Duc Hoang (12th grader from the Hanoi-Amsterdam High School for the Gifted) – Bronze medal. This year, due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the International Physics Olympiad (IPhO 2020) scheduled to be held in Lithuania was cancelled. With the desire to create a useful playground for students who love physics worldwide, Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology took the initiative to organise the International Physics Olympiad from December 7-15, 2020, in a distributed form by country (IdPhO 2020) for students who missed out at the International Physics Olympiad last year. The exercises of the International Distributed Physics Olympiad – IdPhO 2020 were conducted in the exact same manner as the annual Olympics. Candidates worked under the supervision of observers sent by the organising committee to each country. The results of the Vietnamese Olympic Physics delegation closed the year with great success for Vietnamese students at the IdPhO 2020. Notably, this was the first year in which Vietnam selected a number of 10th graders to attend the international contest, and they have shown good results. Source: Nhan Dan Online |
