A four-day break will form part of National Day (Sep. 2) celebrations this year, the labor ministry announced.
This year’s final holiday break would last from Sep. 1 (Thursday) to Sep. 4 (Sunday). Those who work overtime or work night shifts during the holiday would get a wage bonus of at least four-times their normal daily wage.
Foreigners employed in Vietnam would get two extra holidays: one for their traditional New Year celebration, and one for their respective National Day.
Last year, Vietnam added an extra day to its National Day holiday break, totaling two days. This year’s National Day Holiday is followed immediately after by the weekend, culminating in a four-day break.
Vietnamese workers have 22 days off this year, including nine days for the Lunar New Year holiday, and four for the most recent Reunification Day holiday (April 30-May 3).
