Vietnam confirmed 92 more COVID-19 cases in the past six hours to 12 pm on June 7, including 68 infections in Bac Giang, 14 in Ho Chi Minh City, seven in Lang Son, two in Ha Tinh and one in Hanoi, reported the Health Ministry.
Among them, 84 cases were found in quarantine facilities or locked down areas.
As of 12 pm on June 7, the country recorded a total of 8,883 infection cases, including 7,327 local transmissions and 1,551 imported. There were 5,757 new cases detected since the fourth COVID-19 outbreak wave hit the country on April 27.
The provinces of Yen Bai, Quang Ngai, Dong Nai, Nghe An, Quang Ninh, Quang Nam, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, Dak Lak, Nam Dinh, Hoa Binh, Tuyen Quang, Phu Tho, Son La and Ninh Binh have gone through 14 consecutive days without new infections.
According to the ministry’s Medical Service Administration, 3,368 patients have so far been given the all-clear from the virus SARS-CoV-2, and 53 died from the disease.
Among patients undergoing treatment in medical establishments, 242 tested negative once to SARS-CoV-2, 72 twice and 78 thrice.
The ministry called on everyone to follow its 5K message, including khau trang (facemask), khu khuan (disinfection), khoang cach (distance), khong tu tap (no gathering), and khai bao y te (health declaration) and get vaccinated.
