An awards ceremony was held on October 23 by the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) and Viettel to honour the solutions that help drive the national digital transformation effort. |
The first prize (worth VND200 million (US$8,600)) was awarded to a solution identifying plant health using drones while the second and third prizes went to a Vietnamese mapping solution and a cloud-based web security solution. They will receive respective prize money of VND100 million and VND50 million. The contest, Viet solutions, drew the participation of nearly 350 entrants from Vietnam and abroad, in the fields of healthcare, education, finance-banking, agriculture and industrial production, areas all given priority by the government in terms of digital transformation. Viettel will provide financial support to the three winning participants in order to take part in a start-up contest in the United States and the Mobile World Congress 2021 in Barcelona. The corporation will also work with the authors of 22 products to provide their services in Vietnam and across ten international markets. Speaking at the awards ceremony, MIC Minister Nguyen Manh Hung said that Vietsolutions has developed into a global contest with many products from countries strong in IT and where there are problems, there are solutions. For his part, acting General Director of Viettel Le Dang Dung said that as a major technology corporation in Vietnam, Viettel is ready to cooperate with other technology companies to come up with new ideas and translate them into practical solutions.
