The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) announced its list of 100 sustainable enterprises in Vietnam based on the corporate sustainability index (CSI) at a ceremony held on December 11. |
They were selected from the more than 500 enterprises that had qualified after the preliminary round. The CSI covers four areas, namely sustainable development, administration, the environment, and labour. Speaking at the ceremony, VCCI Chairman Vu Tien Loc stated that the CSI programme has received the positive response of the business community as well as the government’s recognition of its impacts on promoting sustainable development. He added that the VCCI will work on modified versions of CSI applicable to ultra-small, small and medium-sized enterprises as well as large ones. At the ceremony, Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh presented flowers and certificates to representatives of the 100 sustainable enterprises. 2020 marks the fifth year of the CSI programme, which was born after the United Nations adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development with 17 goals.
