The PVF team were crowned national U15 football champions after trouncing SHB Da Nang 4-2 in the title match on October 26. |
Despite their 2-3 group-stage defeat against the Da Nang side, PVF delivered a better start in the decisive game on Monday and opened the scoring after 33 minutes, with Nguyen Anh Tuan easily converting a penalty awarded as a result of Da Nang keeper Dinh Ngoc Hoai Vu’s foul on Nguyen Gia Bao. SHB Da Nang almost found an equaliser a few minutes later but Tran Quoc Dat unexpectedly hit the bar. In the second half, PVF remained the better performers. Just four minutes after halftime, Nguyen Anh Tuan burst into the box and returned the ball to teammate Nguyen Gia Bao who shot past the SHB goalie to double PVF’s advantage. Trailing two goals behind, SHB Da Nang increased pressure in seeking to narrow the score. Their efforts eventually paid off with Nguyen Cao Tuan Anh’s successful attempt in the 58th minute. However, shortly afterwards, Nguyen Anh Tuan restored the two-goal lead for PVF by firing a header into an empty net to complete his double, before teammate Thai Ba Dat brought it to 4-1 in the 72nd minute. The remaining time was only enough for SHB Da Nang to reduce the gap to 2-4 thanks to Huynh Trung Dat’s 77th-minute attempt. Together with the overall trophy, PVF also won two individual prizes as Nguyen Anh Tuan was named as both the tournament’s top scorer (nine goals) and most valuable player. SHB Da Nang’s goalie Dinh Ngoc Hoai Vu was voted as the best goalkeeper of the tournament. Source: Nhan Dan Online |
