On the same day, leaders of Hai Duong province visited and presented gifts to medical workers and volunteer medical students in several facilities in the province. At Field 2 Hospital treating COVID-19 patients under Hai Duong Medical Technical University’s Hospital in Hai Duong city, Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee Deputy Secretary Trieu The Hung expressed his deep gratitude to physicians, medical experts and volunteers for their efforts to overcome difficulties and contributions to the fight against COVID-19 in the province for nearly a month. According to Associate Professor, Dr. Dinh Thi Dieu Hang, Rector of Hai Duong Medical Technical University, currently, along with a team of 18 doctors and experts from the Hanoi-based Bach Mai Hospital, the school is mobilising nearly 1,000 officials, lecturers, physicians and students to participate in the prevention and fight against the epidemic in Hai Duong. At two field hospitals No. 1 and 3 of the province in Chi Linh city, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Pham Xuan Thang congratulated and thanked the medical staff for managing hardships and wholeheartedly taking care and treating COVID-19 patients there. On the occasion, Hai Duong province gave gifts worth nearly VND1.6 billion to field hospitals and students from Hai Duong Medical Technical University participating in the epidemic prevention and control. In Hanoi on the same day, Politburo member and Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Vuong Dinh Hue inspected COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control at Thanh Nhan Hospital, while encouraging the capital city’s medical staff on the 66th anniversary of Vietnam Physicians’ Day. With a capacity of over 1,200 beds, Thanh Nhan Hospital is one of five hospitals in Hanoi tasked with organising the examination, screening and treatment of COVID-19 suspected patients. The hospital has screened more than 10,860 cases, quarantined 762 suspected ones and transferred eight positive cases to the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases for treatment. Hanoi Secretary Hue highly appreciated the serious implementation of measures to prevent and fight COVID-19 at Thanh Nhan Hospital, stressing that it was necessary to continue to seriously and effectively implement measures to prevent the epidemic. Offering his greetings to Hanoi medical staff, Hue urged the local health sector to well organise medical examination and treatment for the people, while preparing equipment and manpower available to respond to the more complicated epidemic situation that may occur in the capital city and ready to provide aid to other localities upon request. At the meeting, the Hanoi leaders awarded the city’s Certificate of Merit to 20 doctors and medical staff with excellent achievements in the epidemic prevention and control.
