Party, State and National Assembly pay great care to people with disabilities: NA Vice Chair

Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Khac Dinh has reaffirmed that the Vietnamese Party, State and National Assembly always pay great care to people with disabilities, adding that many policies have been promulgated to take care of people with disabilities, ensure their rights and promote their role in the community.

The NA official made the affirmation at a meeting in Hanoi on December 13, with a delegation to the ‘Shining Vietnam Spirit’ programme, which is held annually by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee (HCYU).

While speaking highly of the efforts and positive contributions of outstanding people with disabilities to society, he stressed that they have been established as shining examples of the strong will to rise above obstacles in life, thus motivating others to overcome difficulties, particularly in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.

He also hailed the HCYU for coordinating with the Vietnam Youth Federation Central Committee and the National Committee for Persons with Disabilities to successfully organise the ‘Shining Vietnam Spirit’ programme, which has contributed to spreading humane values throughout society.

He asked relevant agencies and organisations to implement more programmes to support people with disabilities, particularly the youth, in order to promote their rights and their participation in community activities.

Launched in 2013, the ‘Shining Vietnam Spirit’ programme aims to honour energetic young Vietnamese people with disabilities whose courage and remarkable progress has contributed to the community’s development.
