Dr. Phan Van Bau, director of Nhan Dan 115 Hospital, said that over the past 30 years, the hospital has madegreat strides, becoming a first class general hospital with modern, advanced equipment and facilities.
Established in 1989 with only 200 beds and 200 medical workers, the hospital now has 1,600 beds and 2,500 medical workers. The hospital provides emergency services for about 350 patients and examination and treatment for more than 6,000 inpatients and outpatients per day.
The hospital currently has 45 faculties and units in addition to five major specialised centres in areas such as neurology, kidney urology, cardiology, anesthesia – resuscitation – emergency, and oncology.
The hospital set two records for being the first unit in Asia to deploy a Modus V Synaptive robot system,performing surgery on a 67-year-old patient with a brain tumour as well as being the first to meet the “Gold Treatment Quality Standards” of the European Stroke Association in 2019.
The hospital also has the second largest artificial kidney centre in the country and is one of the two largest kidney transplant hospitals in the south.
Dr. Phan Van Bau said that the achievements were thanks to the efforts and hard workof generations of leaders and workers at the hospital.
On this occasion, Dr. Phan Van Bau was granted the “People’s Doctor” title while four other doctors were presented with the title “Meritorious Doctor”.
