The Muong Lo Cultural and Tourism Festival officially opened at Nghia Lo Town’s stadium in the northern mountainous province of Yen Bai, with the highlight being agreat Xoe Thai dance. |
The great dance featured the participation of 2020 actors and artisans as well as traditional musical instruments. Muong Lo – Nghia Lo, which has gathered 21 ethnic groups to live together, has a long history and glorious revolutionary tradition as well as diverse cultural identities. Visitors to the festival will have the chance to immerse themselves in the folk songs and dances of the Thai ethnicminority people while experiencing diverse cultural and tourism activities. Nghia Lo is famous for the great Xoe Thai dance and Han Khuong Festival which were both honoured as national intangible cultural heritages. In addition, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is creating relevant dossiers for submission to UNESCO in the hopes of recognising Xoe Thai dance as a world’s intangible cultural heritage. Within the annual Muong Lo Cultural and Tourism Festival, the activities reproducing the spiritual lives, culture and arts of ethnic minority groups in the locality are expected to attract a large number of visitors. |
