More aid provided to pandemic-hit localities

 The Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee along with local authorities and authorised agencies have continued to receive donations from organisations, enterprises and individuals aiming to help in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

On June 2, President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee Do Van Chien received funding of VND2.05 billion from the Ministry of Planning and Investment to support efforts against the COVID-19 pandemic.

Of the figure, VND1.05 billion will be sent to the provinces of Bac Giang and Bac Ninh to help the localities in fighting the pandemic while VND1 billion will be sent to the COVID-19 vaccine fund.

*After six days of mobilising people to support the vaccine fund, the VFF in Hai Duong has received donations totalling over VND78 billion from 133 agencies, organisations, enterprises and individuals.

The VFF in Quang Ngai Province has received nearly VND32 billion donated by benefactors.

*T&T Group has granted VND2 billion to the VFF in Gia Lai Province, including Kong Chro District, to assist the locality in combating the pandemic.

*Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province has received a financial support of nearly VND200 billion from various organisations, businesses and individuals and also sent VND3.5 billion to Bac Giang, Bac Ninh and Binh Phuoc to help these provinces in controlling the pandemic.

*President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour Nguyen Dinh Khang visited the provinces of Bac Ninh and Bac Giang to present gifts to local workers affected by the pandemic. He granted the two provinces with VND1 billion each to support affected workers.

*A delegation from the State Bank of Vietnam has also visited the two provinces and presented each province with VND5 billion to help control the pandemic.

*The Commission for the Management of State Capital at Enterprises has called on corporations and member companies under its management to contribute to the COVID-19 vaccine fund. After three days, the commission has raised VND2.36 trillion to donate to the fund.

* On June 2, the VFF in Tuyen Quang Province launched a ceremony to raise fund for the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic and has so far received over VND3.9 billion.

*A programme on providing meals for medical workers at Bac Giang General Hospital was launched on June 2. Funded by a large number of organisations and individuals, the programme aims to provide 10,000 meals worth VND50,000 each to medical workers in 20 days to support them in the fight against the pandemic.

All the meals are prepared by professional chefs and members from the Hanoi Professional Chefs Association and hotels in Hanoi.
