Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam has urged the Hanoi National University of Education (HNUE) to become a role model for other pedagogical schools in the country to follow. |
Speaking at the opening ceremony for the new school year at the university on October 23, Deputy PM Dam affirmed that HNUE is the cradle of modern Vietnamese pedagogy and always maintains its leading position. Praising efforts by teachers and students at the university, Dam expressed his wish that the school would continue with its pioneering and strong activities, contributing significantly to the successful implementation of the fundamental and comprehensive reform of educational sector. He suggested that HNUE should focus on renovating its school governance model, bringing into full play the enthusiasm and wisdom of all members and building the truly scientific and cultural environment of a pedagogical school. Minister of Education and Training Phung Xuan Nha beats the drum to start the 2020-2021 school year at the HNUE. Dam also urged the university to improve capacity for its officials and lecturers, while strongly promoting the innovation of training models and programmes towards enhancing professional capacity training for students. The deputy PM also requested the Ministry of Education and Training soon complete the planning and arrangement of as well as investment in the system of pedagogical schools, with a focus on key facilities like HNEU, to help them improve their capacity to fulfil the mission of fundamental and comprehensive innovation in education. Local authorities were urged to pay more attention to caring for teachers and pedagogical students so that students can feel more secure in their study and their work after graduating, Dam asked. Following the ceremony, Dam and the delegates joined an exchange with students at the school, discussing innovations in education and training, salary issues for teachers, investment in facilities and equipment for learning and support policies for pedagogical students.
