The department called on its staff, enterprises and sponsors to provide essential goods for people in quarantine areas.
By February 24, staff from the department raised VND800 million in cash and VND600 million worth of essential items to provide for affected people.
In addition, the department also raised 16 tonnes of rice, 150 tonnes of fruit and vegetables, 80,000 eggs, 5,000 masks and 300 protection suits, among others, to allocate to locals affected by the pandemic.
Moreover, about 100 gifts worth VND1.3 million each were presented to needy and policy beneficiary families in isolated areas.
Kim Lien Commune, in Kim Thanh District, a new pandemic hotspot with 9,000 people, has been placed under quarantine while many people have not yet prepared food and essential goods. Thus, the department quickly prepared 200 gifts including rice, vegetables, fruit, fish, spices, noodles and masks to provide to the locals.
*Hung Phat JSC and the Association of Information and Technology of Cam Giang District launched the “rice ATM” programme for workers in the district on February 24.
The programme has raised over 50 tonnes of rice and provided 10 tonnes of rice to workers who live in rented accommodation in Cam Giang District.
