Front leader hosts reception for religious delegations

President of the Vietnamese Fatherland Front Do Van Chien received delegations from the Vietnamese Buddhist Sangha (VBS), the Cao Dai Church and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) on April 14.

Speaking at the reception, Most Venerable Thich Thanh Nhieu – Vice Chairman of the VBS Executive Council, said that as a member of the VFF, the sangha has actively encouraged Buddhist monks, nuns and laypeople to participate in patriotic movements launched by the front.

For their part, representatives of the Cao Dai Church and the LDS Church expressed their delight at the increased role of the VFF and shared about the results of cooperation between the VFF and the religions.

Speaking highly of the active contributions of the religions, VFF President Chien expressed his wish that the religious groups will continue working with the VFF so as to create wealthier and happier lives for their followers.

He expects religious leaders to motivate their followers to actively take part in the elections of the National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 tenure.

Chien affirmed that the VFF will continue listening to the wishes of religions and conveying them to the Party and State so as to promptly address arising issues.
