Four new imported cases of COVID-19 were recorded during the past 12 hours, raising the national count to 1,177 as of 6pm on October 29, according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control. |
Vietnam has gone through 57 straight days without locally-transmitted cases. All the four new patients returned from France on flight VN5010 which landed in Tan Son Nhat airport in Ho Chi Minh City on October 21. They tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 while in quarantine. Earlier, seven other passengers on the same flight were also found to be infected with SARS-CoV-2. A total of 1,062 COVID-19 patients in Vietnam have recovered. Among the active patients, five have tested negative for the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 once, three twice and seven thrice. There are no patients in critical conditions. The death toll remains at 35. As many as 14,216 people who had close contact with COVID-19 patients or came from pandemic-hit areas are now under health monitoring nationwide, including 172 in hospitals, 12,812 in other quarantine sites, and 1,132 at home or accommodation facilities.
