Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam has complimented the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education (VAPE) for its efforts to encourage lifelong learning in families, clans, and local communities. |
Dam spoke at an event on November 30 to review the implementation of the movement, known as Project 281, in the past five years. He underlined the importance of efforts to encourage learning and the people’s favourable response as making active contributions to the achievements of Vietnam’s education in recent years. The Deputy PM noted that it is necessary to develop learning models and replicate good examples throughout the country while asking the VAPE to soon formulate a project to encourage lifelong learning among all citizens. According to the association, the system of community learning centres has grown rapidly, now covering nearly all communes and wards in Vietnam. Over the next five years, the VAPE aims to develop funds for promoting education in all its local chapters throughout the country. Source: Nhan Dan Online |
