The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City said that 105 organisations, businesses, and individuals have so far pledged to contribute VND2,293 billion to support the city’s purchase of COVID-19 vaccines. |
By June 14 afternoon, the committee had received over VND211 billion for the purpose. Since March 20, a municipal board for the mobilisation and distribution of the city’s COVID-19 prevention and control fund has received more than VND297 billion worth of donations from organisations, firms, and individuals in Vietnam and overseas. On June 14, in Hanoi, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Do Van Chien received a donation worth over VND357 million and 2,000 protective suits from the Vietnam Association of Small and Medium Enterprises. More than 11,300 officials, employees and workers from 23 member units of the Electricity Vietnam’s Central Power Corporation in 13 cities and provinces have donated nearly VND4.3 billion to the COVID-19 Vaccine Fund. On June 14, Becamex IDC Corporation signed an agreement with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the southern province of Binh Duong and the provincial Department of Health to provide support worth VND40 billion for the COVID-19 prevention and control in Binh Duong. The support includes providing medical supplies, equipment, and human resources for mass testing, especially for the workforce in large concentrated industrial zones in the province.
