Artists operating in State-run art units nationwide were included among the groups of beneficiaries to receive financial support under a resolution issued by the Government on July 1 to assist COVID-19-hit employees and employers. |
Under the resolution, a one-off assistance of VND3,710,000 will be granted to art directors, artists, and painters working at State-run units on performing arts which had to suspend operation more than 15 days in a row due to COVID-19 between May 1 and December 31, 2021, excluding those run by the armed forces. It is estimated that the resolution will benefit a total of 2,000 artists nationwide. In addition, licensed tour guides who had to stop working due to the pandemic from May 1 to December 31, 2021 will also receive a one-off assistance of VND3,710,000 each. According to statistics of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, more than 26,721 tour guides have obtained licenses nationwide. The relief package’s list of recipients also included out-of-work labourers, confirmed COVID-19 patients, those sent to centralised quarantine areas, children, preschool and private school teachers, and business households. The Resolution 68 sets out several principles for the support work, such as ensuring timely support to the right people, publicity and transparency, and simple and easy criteria and procedures for employees and employers to access.
